Last I remember, I had to read to really know something.   I mean really read. Harddd. I went to a competitive secondary school.   The kind of place that humbles you fast.   You could walk in thinking you were the “book smart” one... and 2 weeks later, someone would prove you wrong. That environment built me.   It taught me that knowledge doesn’t just fall on you. You go for it. By the time I got to university, something had shifted.   I still had to read to pass. Things I Never Let Myself Do but almost did: Give Up, and Talk Down on Myself

I always joke that I'm enthused about life. Sincerely enthused. But if I'm honest, life doesn't stay in one mood. It moves in phases. And I've come to notice that every phase has a shape. There's the phase where everything looks rosy. The phase where you're working so hard and still not seeing results. The phase where your friends are close and life feels full. The phase where money is stable, and the phase right after it, where somehow even "enough" doesn't feel like enough anymore. There's the phase where you wake up to the realization that there's more out there for you. And then there's the phase where life just becomes work  plain, relentless work.
