The Plain Truth

I am not so much of the 'pity party' world .  There are videos that pop up, maybe someone capturing the poor moment of a person struggling to make a living. And while this is good and arouses the help of many - because the fact is you have been called to help others in whatever capacity-  But I personally believe that many people who have successfully come out on the greener side and are making a great living had struggles, but no one really saw them going through or many saw and couldn't or did not offer help. Their survival instinct and quest for more pushed them to be more. Now don't get me wrong,  There is a place of help - which cannot be ruled out at all.  There is a place of favour - it makes you fly some steps when many are climbing.  Now, there is a place of hard work- don't neglect the place of fighting hard till you become.  Don't pass the stage of becoming because you want a fast reward.  Enjoy going through the process .  One th...

The Fighting Spirit

The fighting spirit  is what drives us to push beyond limits.  I shared my story about how I wasn't a fan of moving, but God had other plans. I resisted, but He disrupted what I thought was best. And you know what? It wasn't bad - it was a game-changer. The truth is, it's easy to get complacent . We get used to our little bubble and think, "I'm doing okay." But let me tell you, the world is full of people crushing it in ways we can't imagine.  A little story that hits home: A colleague was super confident about her salary, sharing it with friends. But her friend was like, "Girl, what?!" He revealed that what she earned monthly was like a stipend to him. Mind blown, right? The point is, until you have a glimpse of how other sectors or people are thriving, you'll feel content with whatever you're doing. But don't be fine with that .  Have that fighting spirit.  Compare your progress to who? Yourself, yesterday .  Let's keep pushing...

The Respect that Royalty Commands

You are who you say you are  - it's a mindset that sets the tone for how others perceive you.  I realized I had naturally fallen in love with the idea of royalty, not just the title, but the class and aura that comes with it . And you know what? I decided to embody it. Why shy away from the greatness that's within?  Most people don't realize that men, and people in general, treat you how you treat yourself or talk about yourself . Your intonation, your words, your self-talk - they all command a certain level of respect . There's a level of aura people sense just from your presence, and sometimes, it's as subtle as the perfume you wear . Believe me when I say it's a journey - one that requires introspection, self-awareness, and intentional decisions . It starts from the heart, and then it translates to deliberate steps and choices that shape your reality . I have come to realize that people are drawn to stories , so let me tell you one that's had a profound ...

The Plain Hard Truth

Your outcome is a reflection of what you put in. First step to achieving greatness? Acknowledge your weakness . The phrase might need a reread to sink in.  Don't expect luxury if you put in shambles. Don't expect kingship if you only follow the crowd. Don't expect wealth if you chase pennies. Don't expect class if you join the masses . Greatness doesn't come easy. There's gotta be hard work. But first, acknowledge your weakness - that's the major stumbling block for many. Little inside story: I had to be plain with myself - I'm not great at being proactive . I have awesome ideas, but I wait for the 'right time'. But guess what? The right time doesn't often happen. Sometimes you just miss it . We all have silent nudges - that inner call to start something. When it comes, just go for it . I had to start doing tasks the moment they come up, or I'd lose the chance . Put in the work now. Build that empire.

Speak Truth, Spark Growth: Breaking the Waiting Game

I've been blessed to have people in my life who don't sugarcoat the truth.  Recently, someone told me to 'learn to be proactive' - and I knew they meant business . It hit me like a ton of bricks, but I'm grateful for the wake-up call. Reflecting on this, I realized I've been putting in a lot of effort, but not seeing the results I want. I've had prompts to start new projects, pursue new opportunities, and take bold steps... but I guess I was waiting for the 'right moment'.  Maybe some opportunities passed me by while I was waiting . Why am I sharing this?  Because I'm learning to share my lessons so others can benefit. I believe that when we share our experiences, we create a ripple effect that can impact others in powerful ways.  One big takeaway from this experience is the importance of being a friend who speaks truth, even when it's tough. Let's be that person for someone - the one who tells it like it is, even if it's not what the...

Part 4- Embracing the Unfamiliar: My Journey of Growth Through Change

I grew up in a small city, part of a loving family of four 😊. My world was comfortable, predictable, and familiar. I spent my formative years with my parents, then transitioned to a boarding school, but one thing remained constant – my environment. I got used to the stability, and honestly, I loved it. But life had other plans. After graduating from university, I found myself changing environments four times in just five years. Virtually every year, I was starting anew. Initially, it was tough. I remember the first big move from Ibadan to Abeokuta – my body adjusted, but my mind lagged behind for months. I'd often catch myself wistfully longing for the familiarity of Ibadan. However, with each move, something shifted within me. I began to see that every change brought opportunities – new friends, new experiences, and yes, some tears along the way. But most importantly, I learned to trust the journey. I discovered faith in the unknown, and I learned to expect favor. One particul...

Part 3 The New Environment - O'Lord,Don't take my daughter from me

After the sentimental meeting with my Father, I was on my face, telling God to rid me of my pride. And it started happening. Things I thought I was great at - that had led me to stop gaining knowledge... I changed. I reopened my mind to learn more. I observed more, became quieter. Many took it for me being 'so quiet', but I'd say it was from two things: 1. I realised that what I thought I knew... there were many better than me because I had stopped growing. So I had a bit of inferiority complex 😅. 2. I really had to tell my brain - it's time to learn . Truthfully, God brought me to a house of pruning. My pride was worked on just by the character of other members. I became more quiet, no longer running my chatterbox mouth to gain attention . I just wanted to learn. Like I said, I was born with a silver spoon, a proud second-born of two children... I think it's safe to say I was a little spoilt baby girl . Many times if my mom sent me to do something, I'd give 10...

The Sentimental Meeting - Where my pride shattered part 2

I often joke that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth - probably because I got virtually everything I wanted from my parents. And honestly, they did an amazing job .  They might not have had billions of naira, but they gave us something far more valuable: love, care, and opportunities. But looking back, I see that came with a personal flaw - a level of pride I didn't even recognize as pride till it was laughably obvious . It was a meeting with my spiritual Father - alongside my sister - that shattered that pride . I had built this image of myself: smart, capable, always on top of things . I mean, I'd sailed through school, done well in NYSC... so yeah, I kinda thought I knew it all' . I'd mentally correct people's grammar, judge how they spoke... internally, of course 😂 (didn't want to lose friends, lol). But that meeting flipped the script. My Father - a prophetic leader, by the way - asked me questions I wasn't expecting. Like, "Where do you s...

Where the journey began- The sentimental meeting

It started when I was rounding up my NYSC in Ibadan. Don't get it wrong, I had a great journey before that . I went to great schools, had amazing friends, awesome parents .  But a meeting changed it all! I had changed environments and was now in a new location, navigating life post-NYSC. I had successfully paraded about 4 churches in just one year, haha, awesome right? 😂 The pastors were amazing, the churches were awesome, but my body couldn't stay past 2-3 services .  I feel God just had where I should be in mind, but I was not spiritually discerning to be where I was at then . Then my wonderful sister @dolly_f.a.r came to Ibadan and she had a church in mind . With my usual custom, I followed . Making it church number 5, I went one Sunday and ran away again for three months 😅! But this time, when I came back, I stayed . Fast forward to when I started to get serious with commitment and accountability - not by choice, but by a slight nudge from my wonderful sister.  I s...

Beyond the Mantra: Building Capacity for Real Growth

New year, capacity for more - a popular mantra, but let's get real . Overextending yourself can take a toll, "maybe not literally, but gradually tho". I've been there, taking on too much, and slowly, my output started suffering because, after all, I am just me . It got me thinking: how do I achieve all I have the grace to do without burning out? My Father's wise words stuck with me: "Pay attention to the strengths of the people around you." He wasn't saying it's easy, but it's necessary. We often focus on fixing weaknesses rather than amplifying strengths. But when you spotlight others' strengths, you create a powerhouse around you . Sadly, not many have a support system, but you can build one. Everyday, there are people looking to express their capacity - be the platform they can express through. Create space for others to thrive, and watch your own capacity expand. Growth isn't sudden; it requires solid building. Ask yourself: - Who...
